A Sigh of Relief
*NEW* target departure date is June 1! With a few thousand dollars more to come in, we're just not quite ready to go yet. No need to rush the process.
In the mean time, I have plenty of paperwork to plow through -literally, a stack of papers. At this point, the details are essential. Organization is key. Just one step at a time. Faithful in the little things. Getting there...

Just one step further.
When you walk across the rickety bridge
Just one step further
Makes you feel a bit more secure
Just one step further
When you run across the dust
Just one step further
Until you cross the finish line
At last.
When you walk across the water
Just one step further
Hoping the plank rises beneath your foot
Just one step deeper
When you walk through the water
Just one more
Just one.
Overwhelmed, by the paperwork. The details. Exhausted... Just keep focused on the next thing. One more step. Pushing through. Hopeful. Impatient. Tired. Totally excited... One step at a time. That's what is asked of me.

BBQ Blur
You parked your car about 9 houses down the street. You finally walk up the driveway, past the Space Shuttle sketch. You have arrived. Enter, and as you take off your shoes, you can't help but realize there is a little commotion rustling as people huddle around the tables. A curriosity stirs. There is a burst of excitement, followed by laughter...
Peek around the corner. Art lines one wall; people line the other. Just before you are tables of food: tasty carne asada, Pink's hotdogs and a delicious 4 foot-long sub! Enjoy a taste as you proceed further. Couches cradle a few comfortable friends. You can't help but peek over the shoulder of the caricature artist, checking out his easel. And just to the other side, handmade cards and soft t-shirts! All along the way to the BBQ outside patio. A little overcast, but perfect to enjoy!!
The commotion: A Bahamas Vacation. Cruise to anywhere in North America.
We raised over $8,000!! What an amazing team to have help! It was definitely nothing I did to get this far.
After all of the ins and outs, I have yet to find out where we stand in the final thermometer reading, but thus far, an estimate.
It was definitely fun for me! I'm now completely exhausted and eager for the next party. C;
