A rainbow, stars in the sky, purple clouds, the sun and a square

The Story Continues

Today, I received my first alumna letter. A part of me is so saddened to have to close this chapter of my life. It has been one of the most amazing adventures. I am honored to have been sent by so many. I am forever changed by the many I encountered, the children I sat on the floor and painted with, the moms I bonded with in just brief conversation, the teachers, the pastors, the leaders, the security guards, the helpers, the gardener. From the depths of volcanos on Java to the heights in float planes over Papua, up the 'cappuccino river' and into the jungles of Borneo/Kalimantan, I logged many travel hours, tasted so many foods, and my eyes were opened so many new colors. I met some of my favorite and the most intriguing people along the way. What a journey it turned out to be. I look forward to the day that I get to see them again! Until then... The ArtAstronaut in me persists. I have my Rocket and my little Rocker to train.

Get Well Wishes

Play group was cancelled the other day. The Rocket's friend, Taya was sick. Today, she wanted to paint her a get well card. It started out as a rainbow. As she kept painting, she said she was just joking about wanting to paint a rainbow. Oh, the creative process!
