Painting is Life

My turn to paint - it's still not complete. Proverbs - choices. wisdom. faithfulness. Matt 5 - promises. a little hope of heaven. Ezekiel 47 - the lush landscape. the deep waters that bring life. The silhouette is a reflection of the lives I've seen and the impact that those lives have had on mine. In the good and wise choices, in the moments that someone walks alongside you, in the critical points of your life, what is your life line? Question 3: If you could have any super hero's power, what would you choose and why?

The Beauty of Dancing

Not leaving June 1. Two steps back, one step forward. The only sense I can make of it is to simply dance, enjoyng the circumstances surrounding me. Simply in a place to rest and wait. Just the beginning of this week, we had over $4,000 to raise. Now just nearly half of that! It's emotionally exhausting to not have a set departure date, but we can still aim for June. Paperwork has been completed for all that I can do thus far. Question 2: What was the highlight of your day?

Sweet and Pretty vs. Dark and Moody

Went to King's Hawaiian for dinner tonight. Delicious desserts - Paradise Cheesecake and the Kailua Cheesecake! Enjoyed a humorous Shrek the Third with Ben and Tracey. Much needed after a week of logistical and emotional speed bumps. Yet I'm encouraged and hopeful. Thanks for sending your support and love throughout the journey. Today's question: Did your socks match today?

The 2 Challenge

(Did you notice? We're past 94%!!!!!) The first "2" will set the tone for my time in Indonesia: the first 2 hours, 2 days, 2 months. I had coffee today, twice. I've been challeged to set goals for myself. Things that I can do or live without for those stretches of time. Possibilies include not receiving care packages, not having American food, or not watching American movies... It is a challenge to get involved quickly, engage in the community surrounding me, while still allowing myself to access the comforts of home. I haven't yet decided what my specific challenges would be. What would you give up and for how long?

Happy May!!

Love the sunshine and the breeze of May in California. Today I went to the Scarlet Tea Room with my mom. We had delicious food (My favorites were the Strawberry Sorbet and then the Lemon Curd on Ginger Scones.) and walked through Old Town. It was the perfect weather to enjoy it all. I think I'm going to miss the little things, like a night to make invitations and watch a silly movie with friends and their kids. Or watching my favorite show in black and white on the lazyboy sofa. It's so fun to enjoy life! I hope you get to do the same.

Tulips and Sunflowers

May Flowers come after Aprils Showers After a few weeks of overwhelming tasks and errands to plow through, I have finally come to a place of rest and peace. Being able to be free and spontaneous feels like a fresh breeze through the sunlit linen curtains. How soothing is the crisp spring air and the warm sunset! I'm eager for the bright colors to fill my view.
